Just finished watching the George H.W. Bush documentary on HBO. I had forgotten some details of his biography since reading What it Takes, which is one of the best political books of all time. Anyway, imagine you didn’t know who I was talking about and heard the following biography – it’s really quite an extraordinary journey.

A life that involves being the captain of numerous sports while growing up, going to the Navy at 18 and surviving having your plane being shot down, being a leader at Yale, adventuring off to Texas and starting a fairly successful business, becoming a member of Congress, representative to the UN, chairman of the RNC, ambassador to China, director of the CIA, and Vice President. Then not only do you become President, but you also are able to see your own son get sworn in as well.
