A historian recently recommended this book to me – it takes a pretty critical view of subsidies for infrastructure historically and sounds like a good book.

I’ve read it, and while I can understand why a lot of people would like it, I personally didn’t care much for it. Most of it is like a series of biographies of important people from back then.
